It will be the first live professional wrestling show in Canning in three years and the owner, promoter and CEO of Ultimate Championship Wrestling (UCW) says a big announcement concerning the future of the promotion will be made there.

Chuck Martin said a huge buzz surrounded UCW’s highly successful Legends of Maritime Wrestling Tour that wrapped up earlier this month and the announcement planned for the Glooscap District Arena in Canning would relate to the promotion’s next tour, scheduled for late August and early September.

The show in Canning takes place Sunday evening, Aug. 2. Doors open at 7 p.m. with the opening bell sounding around 8 p.m. For the full story, see the Tuesday, July 28 edition of the Kings County Advertiser. Reporter Kirk Starratt, a.k.a. ring announcer “Captain” Kirk, files the following video package… • It should be noted that the video that accompanies this story is of a graphic nature. All wrestlers appearing have years of highly specialized training and are performing in the spirit of entertaining fans, not in the spirit of violence or irresponsibility. Nothing shown here should be mimicked or re-enacted by anyone who is not a trained professional wrestler. Viewer discretion is advised.
