Two local companies were honoured at the Taste of Nova Scotia Prestige Awards ceremony recently.
Le Caveau of Grand Pré was the recipient of the Restaurant of the Year – Chef Inspired Fine Dining award and Fox Hill Cheese House of Port Williams was named Producer of the Year.
“I’m very happy that Fox Hill Cheese House was recognized with this award,” said Kings North MLA Jim Morton. “They are a fine example of why people in Nova Scotia don’t have to look outside of the province for quality products. We have access to great products right here in Kings North.”
According to Taste of Nova Scotia, the goal of the Prestige Awards of Excellence is to provide an annual opportunity to celebrate and honour people who produce, develop, export, prepare and serve the best quality local food and culinary experiences in the province.
Winners, from more than 800 consumer nominations, were brought to a judges’ panel and then approved by the Taste of Nova Scotia Board of Directors.
