Crash injures three, closes highway

Three people are in hospital after a late afternoon crash on Highway 101. Two vehicles collided just west of Exit 12 Dec. 21 at approximately 4:15 p.m. Road conditions were wet at the time.

A 59-year-old Halifax man was only person in the eastbound vehicle; two people from Indian Brook were in the westbound vehicle, a 38-year-old man and 26-year-old woman. All three were taken to Valley Regional Hospital with serious injuries. The Halifax man was later moved to the QE2 in Halifax.

The highway was closed from the time of the accident until shortly after 7 p.m. Kings District RCMP Cst. Geoffrey Peters said December 22 the investigation is ongoing.
