Christopher Alkenbrack, who lives near Wolfville, is shown with Senators Jane Cordy and Terry Mercer during a ceremony in Halifax recently where he was recognized with the Queen Elizabeth Diamond Jubilee Medal.

Alkenbrack, who has multiple sclerosis, is active in promoting the Zamboni surgical technique to relieve symptoms of the disease.
