Kentville reappointed Lloyd Smith as honourary town crier at the Nov. 26 town council meeting.

Clerk Carol Harmes noted it is a duty of the newly-elected council to appoint a town crier to proclaim news of the town.

Smith, who is in his 35th year as a crier, will hold the post until November 2016.

“Council may not realize what this means to me,” Smith said of being invited to accept the appointment at the council meeting. “I say this with all due respect and a humble heart.”
