• Community Worship Service - Lead Me to the Rock at the Kings Presbyterian Church (by the Big Stop), 7:30 p.m. Sponsored by the Kentville/New Minas Council of Churches.

• Good Friday Service - at New Beginnings, 1151 Bridge St., Greenwood, 7 p.m. A drama, special music and a short video. Everyone is invited.

• Passion Songs – Good Friday service, 7 p.m., North Alton Baptist Church, corner of Hwy 12 and exit 13 Hwy 101. Free admission.

• Service – to mark Good Friday, 7 p.m., the Forest - Hill Baptist Church. Everyone welcome.

• Easter Breakfast - 8 a.m. at the Forest Hill Baptist Church. Church Service will be held right after breakfast. Everyone welcome.

 

April 2

• Kings County Wildlife Association - meeting at NSCC Kentville, 7 p.m. New members are welcome.

Wolfville and Area Newcomer’s Club - monthly meeting, 7 p.m. Wolfville Farmers’ Market Building. Speakers Wayne Ward, Canning Daylily Gardens. Meetings are held on the first Tuesday of every month. www.wolfvillenewcomers.org

 

April 3

• Breakfast - Hantsport & District Lions breakfast, 7-10 a.m. at the Lockhartville Hall, 204 Hutchinson Road. $6 per person, children six to 12  $3, children five and under free. Proceeds for Lions Community Service Programs.

• Crib - Kentville Legion Crib Tournament, $20 per team. Registration 12:30 p.m. upstairs. Play starts at 1 p.m.

• Dance - Kentville Legion dance, 9:30 p.m. $6 per person. Music by Appaloosa.

• Church Breakfast – at Bethany Memorial Baptist Church, 539 Aldershot Road, 8-10 a.m. Freewill offering for church projects.

 

 

April 7

• Hymn Sing - Stoney Hill Baptist Church, Lockhartville, 7 p.m. Special guest Gospel Lights. Lunch will follow.

• Flea Market - Kentville Legion Flea Market, River Street, 8 a.m. to noon, admission $1. Wheelchair accessible, canteen available.

 • Benefit – 1-4 p.m. at the Meadowview Hall. Freewill offering at the door, 50/50 and canteen. Talent includes Cy Brown & the Guys, Basil Davidson, David Arenburg, Robin Wright, Country Heat and Bunker Spencer.

• Hymn sing - at Somerset Community Hall at 7 p.m. Special music by Brent and Madelyn Bachman. Refreshments and fellowship to follow.

 

April 8

• Valley Gardeners Club - meeting at 7:30 p.m. in Room 2101 at the Kingstec Campus of NSCC, Kentville. Erma Russel will speak about Horiculture Studies at Kingstec.  Bring along extra transplants or seeds to share with others.

 

April 9

• Community Luncheon - 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Kingston Lions Hall. Roast beef dinner. $8 or $8.50 delivered. For take-out orders, call 765-2128 by 11:15 a.m.

• Meeting - Burial Grounds Care Society annual meeting, 7:30 p.m., Sobey’s Community Room, New Minas.  All welcome to attend.

 

April 10

• Cookie Sales - Berwick Sparks, Brownies, Guides, Pathfinders and Rangers will be selling Girl Guide cookies. Between 6-8 p.m., watch for girls at your door or visit the Berwick town hall parking lot. $5 a box. If you miss us, contact Sara, 538-9191

• Spaghetti Dinner – held by Pine Ridge Middle School Concert Band, 5:30 p.m., at the Aylesford United Church Hall, 2414 Hwy #1.  Tickets $15, available at Scotiabank, Greenwood. Proceeds toward the concert band trip. More info, 765-7570.

• Movie Fundraiser – for the Wolfville Food Bank, held by theWolfville Rotary Club.
