Congratulations to Flying Manatees, a First Lego League robotics team consisting of Jonah McKay of Scott’s Bay and Eamonn and Macky Schwartz of Canning, who achieved the highest score in the robot game portion and won the award for Most Innovative Project at the provincial championship hosted by Acadia University Feb. 15. The team was sponsored by Ross Creek Centre for the Arts. All team members are homeschooled and are coached by Scott’s Bay resident Ian McKay. The team has been invited to the first ever FLL International Open in Canada, taking place in Toronto.

Gene and Louise Misner of Scott`s Bay are inviting local residents and families to enjoy the fresh air and coast on their hill before winter comes to an end.

Ami McKay, Scott`s Bay`s award winning author, will host a March Break Creative Writing workshop March 14 at 9 a.m. at Ross Creek. The one-day workshop, Ghost Writer, will help you create atmospheric settings, memorable characters and gripping plots.
