St. Eudora held its regular meeting in February with Noble Grand Marjorie Saunders presiding. Marjorie welcomed all. District was discussed as well as lunch for district on April 17. The delegate for District #3 and for assembly is Julia Cox. She will do a demonstration of lodge work for district. District #3 consists of St. Eudora, Berwick; Myrtle, Middleton; St. Eulalie, Kentville. Frances Burns, Myrtle, is president; Gladys Cook, St. Eudora, is vice-president; and Marion Garber, Myrtle, is secretary-treasurer. New officers will be elected April 17. The Rebekah Assembly for the Atlantic provinces will be held in Bridgewater, July 13-16. Three members of St. Eudora will attend. The Volunteer of the Year from the lodge is Jim Huntley. Jim is very helpful to the lodge. All enjoy his music. Next meeting is March 19, 2 p.m.
The ACW met March 3 at 2 p.m. in the Christ Church Hall with 11 in attendance. President Carolyn Dumbrille opened the meeting. Marg Zwicker was acting secretary. The devotions were given by Thelma Huntley. It was reported 40 pounds of food was given to the food bank in December. They discussed the noon lunches in Lent, which follows church services at noon. They start March 12 and continue for five Wednesdays. ACW will be hosting the coffee hour following the service on Easter. Thank you cards were received for donations given. Shirley Moir donated a deep freeze for hall use. Rev. Ruby spoke on SafeRChurch. There will be a Quiet Day at St. James, Kentville on March 15 from 9:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m., with lunch provided. Cost is $15. Refreshments were supplied by Carolyn Dumbrille, Florence Carter and Lynn Troop.
The MacPherson Auxiliary met March 3 at 2 p.m. in the Ladies’ Parlour. President Vivian Morse gave her thought for the day. Devotions were given by Amanda Whitman with Psalm 23, Hearing His Voice, and a prayer. Thank you's were read. Guest, Pat Joudrie spoke on a concert with Valley Voices April 27 at 2 p.m. Marjorie Saunders read two St. Patrick’s Day articles. A food auction brought in $65. This was given to Pat to start a fund to fix up a family room. Refreshments were a St. Patrick’s lunch with green as the main colour. Next meeting will be April 7 at 2 p.m.
