NEW MINAS - A benefit concert is being organized for a 23-year-old New Minas man injured while driving home from Alberta.

Branden Latter

The March 6 concert will raise funds for Braden Latter. While returning to the Valley after work declined out west, he was involved in a serious vehicle accident in Thunder Bay.

A mechanic by trade, Latter escaped with his life, but lost all of his possessions, including $6,000 worth of tools.

Keith Ross, who heads the Kings Fiddlers, says the benefit is set for 2 p.m. at the Louis Millett Centre.

The fiddlers are lined up to play, along with the Groove Kings, Gerald and Elsie Wood, who play Bluegrass, and other musicians.

Latter spent five days in intensive care and had two surgeries immediately after the accident.

Organizations: Louis Millett Centre, Groove Kings

Geographic location: New Minas, Ontario, Thunder Bay
