What is the best advice you ever received?

“To not worry about speaking about or declaring the values you hold dear – in my case, family, professional commitment and service to your community.”

Who is your biggest influence?

“My mother, Annie. My father died when I was 15. I was the second eldest of 10 children. My mother committed to us becoming the best possible people we could become, and that we would become educated.”

What are you passionate about?

“People. More than anything, it’s been the key to my success. I’m interested …(in) what my office can do to improve people’s lives. And sport has always been a big part of my life.”

If you could offer one piece of advice to teens today, what would it be?

“Base their life on values and remain committed to getting a good education. No matter what the difficulties, remain loyal to family and friends.”

Why are you running?

“This is my fourth time seeking office. I’m pleased with some of the work I’ve been able to accomplish. As I look into the eyes of my grandchildren, I believe there is public policy we can move forward to strengthen our province.”

What do you think is the single most important issue in your riding?

“Jobs, and the future possibilities for young families and for those completing post-secondary education.”

Why should people vote for you?

“I see how I’ve conducted myself as an MLA as an extension of what I am as a person. I know you can’t solve every problem, but you can work hard to try to do so.”
