Call Me Fitz’s Tracy Dawson is the latest award winner from the New Minas-filmed comedy. Dawson picked up the Gemini Award for best actress in a comedy during the Sept. 7 televised awards show for her wickedly funny portrayal of title character Richard Fitzpatrick’s sister Meghan.
In pre-gala industry awards the HBO Canada show, created by new Wolfville resident Sheri Elwood, won six awards.
Fitz was nominated for 16 Geminis, including gala night awards for best comedy, but lost out to the Rick Mercer Report. Dawson’s colleagues Priestley and Brooke Nevin were nominated for best actor and actress in a comedy, respectively.
