Dan Hill and the Spinney Brothers join host and performer Rachel MacLean for Christmas with Friends Dec. 9, 7 p.m., at University Hall in Wolfville.

Hill, a Grammy winner best known for his classic hits Sometimes When We Touch, Can’t We Try and Never Thought (That I could Love), has enjoyed a long career as a songwriter, penning songs for artists such as Celine Dion, Rod Stewart, Tina Turner and Reba McEntire.

Fresh off signing an American record deal and releasing a new CD in March, Spinney Brothers Rick and Allan bring a bluegrass sound home to Christmas With Friends. Since debuting in 1992, they’ve released eight CDs and are recipients of many Eastern Canadian Bluegrass Awards, including three-time Vocal Group of the Year. In 2010, they were inducted into the Nova Scotia Country Music Hall of Fame.

Tickets, $25, are on sale now at the Acadia Box Office, 542-5500 or 800-542-8425, Atlantic Save Easy and Pharmasave stores from Windsor to Digby.
