How would life be different without taxes? Kentville is being considered for a small screen peek into the idea.
Producers from Force Four Entertainment, producers of CBC’s Village on a Diet, are visiting a number of Canadian communities looking for participants. Those chosen will get a chance to see if they can do a better job than their government officials in managing dollars for services.
According to the production company, “participants will be given a pooled sum of money that equates their taxes. In return, participating households would organize and manage their own services.”
Beat the budget to earn prizes.
Kentville’s council advisory committee endorsed the idea Jan. 14.
To learn more about the opportunity, the town is hosting a public meeting at 7 p.m., Sunday Jan. 20 at the recreation centre.
Force Four is also interviewing Kentville residents for potential participation. To request an interview or for more information, contact Tara- Lee, 604-669-4424 Ext. 128 or email@example.com.
The show also has a Facebook page.
