Jan. 16

• Lunch - Soup and chowder luncheon. Port Williams United Baptist Church. 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.  $8. Take-outs available with free delivery in Port Williams area. Call 542-3012.  Sponsored by the Loyal Workers.

• Meeting - Kings County Chapter of the Schizophrenia Society of Nova Scotia, meets at 7 p.m. in room 119 (east entrance) at the Lou Millett Community Centre. “A Tale of Mental Illness from the Inside”, a video compilation of personal stories, will be shown. Everyone welcome. In the event of a storm cancelling schools in our district, the meeting will also be cancelled.

• Gospel Jam Session - 7 to 9 p.m., at the Lockhartville Church. All welcome.

• Jam Session – At the Cambridge Community Centre, 7 p.m. Bring the talent or come to enjoy the music. Please bring your favourite treats/sweets for a lunch if you can. Coffee/tea is provided.  Freewill offering at the door.

 

Jan. 19

• Lions Breakfast - Coldbrook Lions breakfast. All you can eat full meal deal for freewill offering. Info:  Marsha, 692-0379.

• Church Breakfast - 8-11 a.m., Breakfast at the Aylesford United Church. Freewill offering. Everyone is welcome. Sponsored by the Community of Stewards.

• Dance - Coldbrook Lions Dance. 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. $6 per person. Music by Route 12. Info: 538-8050.

• Good Neighbour Club Breakfast – At the Centreville Community Hall, 7-10:30 a.m. Freewille offering, all welcome.

• Variety Music Night – Will be presented by the Kingston Lions, at the Kingston Lions Hall, 7 p.m. Admission $5, features performances by Lois Lutz, Chet Brown, Just For Fun, Mary Dunlop and Ruth Whitman.

• Legion Dance - Kentville Legion Dance, 9:30 p.m. River St, Kentville, $6 person, Music by Still Doin Time.

• Breakfast - Wolfville and District Lions Club breakfast, 7 to 10 a.m. Adults $6, children 10 and under $3. All proceeds go to Wolfville Lions Community Service Work.

• Crib - Kentville Legion, Ladies Auxiliary crib tournament. Registration 12:30 p.m., play a 1 p.m.

Upstairs, $20 per team. Lunch served compliments of the ladies.

• ACTS of Worship - Formerly Rally in the Valley, 7 p.m. at Falmouth Baptist Church, 404 Town Road, Falmouth, NS. Speaker: Joel Murphy; theme: Missions. All ages welcome.

• Ecumenical Service Week of Prayer - For Christian Unity, at 3 p.m., storm date Jan. 27.

Jan. 22

• Food Bank AGM - at 7 p.m., the Berwick Food Bank Association will hold its annual general meeting at the food bank premises, located at 100 South St., Berwick. Everyone is welcome to attend.

 

Jan. 24

• Jam Session – At Cambridge Community Centre, 7 p.m. Bring the talent or come to enjoy the music. Please bring your favorite treats/sweets for a lunch if you can. Coffee/tea is provided.  Freewill offering at the door.

 

Jan. 25

• Toast a Classic Scot - Performed by the Kings Chorale, a Musical Tribute to Robbie Burns, 7:30 p.m. at the New Minas Civic Centre.

• Roast Pork Dinner – Held by the Wolfville and District Lions, 5-6:30 p.m., at the Lions Hall, 36 Elm Ave., Wolfville. Tickets available from any Lions member or Wolfville Save Easy and at the door. $12 per person, under 10 $6. Take out available. Proceeds to Lions Community projects.

 

Jan. 26-27

• Eagle Watch 2013 Breakfast - Before embarking on a day of viewing the magnificent Bald Eagles, enjoy breakfast of pancakes and sausages, Sheffield Mills Community Centre, 96 Black Hole Rd. Proceeds to the maintenance of our historic schoolhouse and local charities. Adults $7, children $4

 

Jan. 26

• Guided Walk - Hike Nova Scotia and Nova Scotia Nature Trust present a guided full moon walk or snowshoe in the Wolfville Watershed, Gaspereau Valley, at 7:30 p.m. Register at alice@nsnt.ca. Participants qualify to win trail prizes. Go to www.hikenovascotia.ca for details.

 

Jan. 27

• Merchandise Bingo - 2 p.m. at Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #6, River St., Kentville

• Praise Service - 7 p.m. at the Kingston Baptist Church, Main St., Kingston, with musical guests Sonlight.  Freewill offering, all proceeds will be donated to the Multi Addiction Center in North Kingston. Fellowship and refreshments following service.

 

Feb. 2-3
