Kings County acts secure StanFest slots

CANSO - Stanfest organizers have announced that two Kings County performers made the cut for their Make the Mainstage Contest.

The two local winners of the coveted six slots were Sarah Pound of Wolfville and Kevin Davison of Canaan.

The online competition included 55 entries, 21,000 visits to view videos and 9,900 votes. The other four artists are: Drake Adams, Jesse Cox, Julia Tynes, and John Wayne Donovan.

The other competitors from the eastern Valley were Hughie McDonell of Aylesford and The Chimney Swifts from Wolfville.

Stanfest is known as Canada's songwriter festival. An annual event in Canso, Stanfest gathers 50 of the world's best artists/acts for an exciting four-day, six-stage festival at the end of June.
