WOLFVILLE - Being surrounded by a dazzling array of colourful orchids is a great way to brighten a winter day.

The Wolfville Orchid Group’s annual show is on today, Feb. 20, at the K.C. Irving Centre at Acadia University in Wolfville until 4 p.m.

There are a wide variety of orchids from five area growers on display, including 24 from Paul Cabilio of Wolfville. He said there’s an appeal to orchids, as the flowers are incredible and quite diverse.

Cabilio, who enjoys gardening, said orchids change with the season and it can be a challenge getting them to grow well and flower.

As part of the free-admission show, a webinar from the American Orchid Society entitled ‘It’s All About the Roots’ is being presented in the lecture theatre from 2 to 3 p.m.
