Trial set on stolen property charges involving St. Margaret Village couple


INGONISH — A provincial trial was scheduled Thursday for a northern Cape Breton couple facing charges involving stolen property.

Simon Wilfred Bonnar, 43, of St. Margaret Village is charged with four counts of possession of stolen property, two counts of tampering with a vehicle identification number, one count of breach of probation and one count of possession of ammunition while prohibited.

Catherine Elizabeth Bonnar, 41, of St. Margaret Village is charged with four counts of possession of stolen property and two counts of tampering with a vehicle identification number.

During the course of their investigation, RCMP seized two all-terrain vehicles, one snowmobile and several provincial road signs. A large amount of ammunition was also seized.

Both appeared, via video from Ingonish, in court Thursday and entered pleas of not guilty. A trial for both is now scheduled for Nov. 30. 2015.
