Anyone is welcome to bring their documents to be destroyed by Shred-it’s mobile shredding unit in the detachment’s Main Street parking lot Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Community Policing officer Blair MacMurtery, says the event discourages citizens from putting confidential documents into curbside trash, “part of our prevention of identity theft. “
This is the third shredding day, Seniors Safety Program coordinator Michelle Parker, says. “Each time it has been growing in size.”
“You don’t have to worry about taking out staples. It can even shred old cassettes, discs and tapes,” Parker points out, making it a quick and easy way to destroy piles of personal papers.
The event is sponsored by Wolfville RCMP, the Kings County Seniors Safety Program, Shred-it and RBC
Each individual may bring up to six boxes of material to be shredded. For more information, contact Michelle Parker at 542-3817.
