A collection of Nova Scotia businesses looking for new markets to help balance the decline in business here at home have decided to face the challenge head-on. They are finalizing plans for a trade mission to Scotland September 5-12 and the July 3 deadline to register is fast approaching.
Entitled Nova Scotia Homecoming, the mission is built from a grassroots movement fostering small business, economic development, tourism, immigration and education between New Scotland and Old Scotland.
The week-long mission will provide entrepreneurs, educators, tourism operators, politicians and not-for-profit organizations an opportunity to meet one-on-one with potential investors, tourism representatives and government authorities to help create alliances for future investment, trade and immigration.
There will also be two showcase opportunities giving even greater exposure for the services, investment opportunities and tourism experiences available in “New Scotland.”
Reach new audiences
Destination Southwest Nova Association is a leader in driving this initiative, in cooperation with the Municipality of Kings and Ian Russell, who has participated in previous Scotland missions.
“Anyone who has the desire to reach new audiences and markets should seriously look at this mission as an ideal opportunity to move forward,” said Madonna Spinazola, General Manager of Destination Southwest Nova. “We have opportunities for people to travel with the mission, or to participate in a marketing initiative with Celtic Life Magazine.”
Spaces are still available for interested entrepreneurs to register. Details along with contact information can be found by visiting: www.novascotiahomecoming.com.
