Man killed in Bishopville Road crash

A Kings County man was killed July 30 in a single car crash on the Bishopville Road in West Hants, near Hantsport.

Richard Joseph O’Brien, 37, of Bishopville was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, which occurred just after 8 p.m. Another male was transported by ambulance to the Hants community hospital and a third man was transported by air ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth II hospital in Halifax. Joseph and the man taken to the Hants health centre were both ejected from the vehicle in the crash, the third man had to be extricated from the wreckage.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation. Road conditions at the time were good.
