Annapolis Valley Health wishes to advise residents in the district about how to best connect with new family physicians in the area.
Residents who are seeking a family physician can call Annapolis Valley Health at (902) 690-3424 and leave a message with their contact information and area of residence. No medical information is needed. Annapolis Valley Health will keep a list of individuals seeking a family physician and as new physicians come to the area, the list will be provided to the physician to contact residents on the list.

Thousands of people in Kentville and Berwick will soon have better access to a family doctor.
The Department of Health announced Wednesday that it has secured additional family physicians for the two communities.
“The new doctor in Kentville will be a great resource for people in Kings County,” said Ramona Jennex, MLA for Kings South. “Improving access to family doctors and other health care providers is an important part of our government’s commitment to provide better care sooner.”
Family physicians have been secured for both Kentville and Berwick. The province’s recently released physician resource plan identified several ways to improve patient access to care through better planning and management of the physician workforce. The Department of Health and Wellness continues to work with the district health authorities and other partners on a number of initiatives to increase the number of family doctors practicing in rural areas. This includes expansion of the Family Medicine Residency Training Program to the Annapolis Valley.
“I know how much it means for people to have a family doctor, so this is great news for people in our community,” said Jim Morton, MLA for Kings North.
