Update: Highway 101 reopened

Hwy 101 between Exit 7 and 8 has been reopened to traffic following an earlier collision.

 

A car traveling westbound crossed the centre line and collided with a transport truck traveling eastbound. As a result of the impact, an additional car was involved in the collision. The 48-year-old male driver of westbound car was taken to the QE II hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The drivers of the transport truck and other car were not injured. The investigation into the collision is ongoing.

Highway 101 in both directions is closed between Exit 7 and 8.   A three-car collision involving a tractor-trailer and two cars has closed Hwy 101 in both directions between Exit 7 and 8. Motorists are advised to use alternate routes and/or avoid the area if possible. Emergency crews are on the scene. A traffic analyst is also attending. Additional information will be released as it comes available.
