The Valley Maple Leafs won a “nail biter” of a game Nov. 17, defeating the Bay Ducks 3-2 at the St. Margarets Bay Arena.

The Bay Ducks opened scoring in the first period and picked up their second goal of the night midway through the second period, but the Leafs came back with two goals in the second.

Jory Uhlman, off the stick of Brandon Parker and Nicholas MacKenzie, picked up the Leafs’ first goal of the night five minutes into the second period. Jake Andrew Gailbraith tied things up with a power play goal with less than two minutes to go in the second with assists going to Mitchell Culley and Parker.

With just 17 seconds left to go in the game, Colin Gillis won the game for the Leafs with the assist going to Uhlman.

The team next plays at home in Kentville on Nov. 24, when they’ll face off against the Sackville Blazers at 7:30 p.m.
