Canning resident Paul Manning, currently a fourth-year Bachelor of Science student at Dalhousie's agricultural campus in Truro, has been selected as a Rhodes Scholar to represent the Maritime Provinces for 2013.

The scholarships are awarded throughout the Commonwealth, and in the United States and Germany. The scholarship provides for all expenses for travel to and study at Oxford University for two years, with an option for a third year.  The current value of the scholarship is in excess of $100,000.

Manning intends to pursue a Masters degree in Zoology while in Oxford.
