Environment Canada has issued a blizzard warning for Kings County and is advising "persons in or near this area should be on the lookout for adverse weather conditions and take necessary safety precautions."

The forecast now calls for 10 cm of snow overnight and 20 to 30 cm Sunday with winds gusting to 70 km/h and highs of 0 C.

Environment Canada has issued a winter storm warning for Saturday night and Sunday.

The 11 a.m. Dec. 29 forecast calls for snow at times heavy beginning after midnight. Snowfall amounts are estimated at 10 cm overnight with northeast winds of 30 km/h and lows of minus 5 C.

The forecast for Dec. 30 is for snow at times heavy changing to flurries by evening and snowfall amounts of 20 cm. Blowing snow and winds guesting to 60 km/h and a high of 1 C is predicted.

In anticipation of the storm, Greenwood Mall management has announced the shopping centre will be closed Dec. 30.
