Visitor restrictions at Valley Regional Hospital in Kentville have now been extended to include all medical units at the site.

Visitor restrictions have been put in place on the medical units (which include Medical Units A and B, as well as Medical B extension) due to a gastrointestinal illness circulating. Some exceptions may apply for immediate family of critically ill patients.

All outpatient hospital services are still available; however, visitor restrictions on the medical units at Valley Regional Hospital will remain in place until further notice.

Annapolis Valley Health reminds the public that regular and thorough hand washing can help prevent the spread of illness. As well, members of the public are advised to not visit patients at the hospital if they are not feeling well themselves.
