Liberal MLA for Kings West Leo Glavine says the Western Kings Arena needs provincial funding to help replace failing piping.

“The arena is an important part of community life,” says Glavine.

Glavine says the facility needs expensive upgrades to stay open.

“Over the past few years, $250,000 in upgrades helped breathe new life into the almost 40 year old facility,” says Glavine.

Glavine says the improvements will involve upgrading piping and replacing boards and glass.

“Though there was a verbal agreement to help with the long-term refurbishment of the facility, there has been no binding agreement with the province,” says Glavine. “Investing in the facility will help the government meet the goals it laid out in its Thrive program and help the community.”
