Fog along the Cornwallis River was lifting this morning under sunny skies, but messy weather is in the forecast for later in the day.

Environment Canada's forecast is calling for increasing cloudiness Friday, with a 40 per cent chance of flurries in the morning and then a 40 per cent chance of rain showers this afternoon.

Wind is expected to become southeast to 20 km/h this afternoon with temperatures of 4 C.

Periods of rain are expected beginning in the evening and ending before morning, with a risk of freezing rain.
