Street crime unit make cigarette, pot arrests

RCMP Kings Street Crime Enforcement Unit assisted by Kings District RCMP, arrested a 59-year-old male at a residence in the South Berwick area September 22. Executing a warrant under the Excise act, RCMP found a quantity of illegal cigarettes at the residence. The man will appear in court on November 16.

On September 28, the Street Crime Unit and the General Investigation section, assisted by Kentville Police’s Street Crime Unit, executed a drug warrant at a residence in Welton’s Corner. They seized a substantial quantity of marijuana and marijuana plants. A 48-year-old male was arrested at the residence and will appear in court December 7 on charges under the Controlled Drug and Substance Act and a charge of unsafe storage of a firearm.
