Kings RCMP are investigating two cash grabs and a robbery at area stores in the last week.

The first theft of cash occurred July 17 at 3:20 p.m. at Ward's General Store in Centreville. While the cashier was waiting on a woman, a man reached into the till and grabbed money. He fled the scene on foot while the female shopper completed her transaction and left. Police now believe the two planned the theft together.

A masked man who might have been carrying a handgun entered Mader’s Pharmacy in Coldbrook at 12:48 p.m. July 18 and demanded prescription medication. The man took the drugs and ran.

RCMP are also investigating a theft of money that occurred July 19 at 9:10 a.m. at Mader's Pharmacy. A male and a female entered the store together, and the male lunged over the counter and grabbed money from the open till. There was nothing said to the staff by either of the two culprits. The pair then fled the store and escaped in a vehicle. A short time later, a vehicle matching the description was observed by police east on the Highway 101. The vehicle was stopped in the Grand Pre area and the two occupants were arrested. A 24-year-old male and a 22-year-old female, both Kings County residents, were arrested for the thefts of cash in Centreville and Coldbrook.

These investigations are continuing and additional charges are possible. Police are asking anyone with information to contact any RCMP office or report anonymously through Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-8477. An arrest and charges based on a tip may result in a cash reward.
