Ontario man arrested for speed, stolen truck

A 59-year-old male from Ontario was taken into custody in Yarmouth after speeding through a Kings County accident scene July 28. A cab truck with an Ontario license plate sped past RCMP, fire fighters, EHS personnel and Department of Transportation staff at aan accident scene between exits 14 and 15 on Highway 101 near Coldbrook.

Police began to monitor the vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed and Annapolis, Digby, Meteghan and Yarmouth RCMP became involved in the pursuit.  Spike belts were deployed in Digby and Yarmouth.  The vehicle ran over both and eventually pulled over to the shoulder of Highway 101 near Starrs Road in Yarmouth.

The man will be appearing in Yarmouth Provincial Court July 29 on a number of driving related charges and possession of a stolen motor vehicle.
