There were 230 reports made to RCMP in Kings County between Dec. 29 and Jan. 4.

Dec. 29

A truck stolen from Kingston was recovered later in Cambridge. It had been deliberately damaged.

Someone stole four of six pet rabbits overnight in Waterville.

A report of threats, theft and dangerous driving in the Kingston area is being investigated.

Nothing was taken during a break-in at a North Kentville residence.

Two separate people were reported missing and later found.

There was a case of harassment and a Canning area house was egged.

A gust of wind blew a cyclist into a car in Upper Dyke. He was treated and released from hospital.

A disturbance was reported at a New Minas business.

Two washing machines were vandalized on Skyway Drive, Wolfville.

Two young males who shoplifted were taken into custody in New Minas.

A man who identified himself was reported for making rude phone calls and boasting he would call everyone in the phone book.

There were two reports of loud music in Waterville.

Dec. 30

At 12:30 a.m., an intoxicated woman in her 40s was lodged in a cell in Kingston after causing a disturbance.

At 3:45 a.m., two individuals were looking in unlocked vehicles on Fowler Drive in Wolfville.

Two chain saws were stolen from a shed in the Kingston area.

A charge was laid of failing to yield following a collision in North Kentville.

A stolen vehicle was discovered in Lumsden Pond. It had been taken from the car park in Avonport.

Some household articles were stolen from a cottage at Sunken Lake.

Someone drove over a lawn in Waterville.

At a checkpoint in Waterville a 22-year-old man was stopped for speeding and arrested for possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking.

An alcohol-fuelled disturbance in Port Williams was reported at 8:54 p.m.

Someone kicked in a door to break into a residence in Kingston.

Loud music and fireworks were reported in North Kentville.

Dec. 31

A well being check was requested at 1:50 a.m.

Someone was reportedly trying car doors in New Minas.

Police assisted at a house fire in Greenwood.

A vehicle in Steam Mill hit a pole in heavy rain.

Police determined there was no underage drinking at a party in Bishopville.

An underage youth was inebriated in Wolfville, treated in hospital and later charged.

There was a big party in Kingston.

An assault occurred in Auburn. Someone's head was cut with a beer bottle.

An unwanted male was trespassing in Berwick.

A minor assault was reported at a drinking establishment in Greenwood.

Jan. 1

Two inebriated males caused a disturbance at a Greenwood drinking establishment.

A 36-year-old man was arrested at a party in North Kentville for sexual touching, assault causing bodily harm, assault, two counts of threats and failure to comply.

There was a disturbance at an apartment on Fundy Drive, Wolfville, and later one on Main Street.

At 2:27 a.m., two inebriated men were caroling on Gaspereau Avenue.

Parents were notified about an out of control party with 60 youth at a Coldbrook home.

A man and woman in their 20s were arrested for an assault in Cambridge.

There were two complaints about a loud party in North Kentville.

Police were called at 2:47 a.m. about a man with a broken leg who was refusing to go with paramedics.

A man died suddenly.

A mailbox was damaged in Kingston.

A report of shots in a field in the Aylesford area at 3:27 p.m. turned out to be skeet practice.

An intoxicated man turned up at an ex-girlfriend's house in North Kentville causing a disturbance. He was arrested after barging into a neighbour's house and assaulting two people.

Two well being checks were requested.

Police spoke to the registered owner of a red Laser after it was reportedly all over Highway 101 near Avonport.

Jan. 2

A brick was thrown through a window at the school in Coldbrook.

Someone took a jacket in New Minas, but it was returned.

A Summer Street, Wolfville apartment was broken into.

There was an attempted theft of a Neon in the Cambridge area.

Police in Wolfville had to mediate after a car sale went sour.

Some illegal dumping was reported in Greenwood.

Jan. 3

A 2002 Honda ATV was stolen from a shed in the Kingston area.

A Cadillac spun out at Chipman Corner and went into the ditch. A child received injuries.

An unwanted person was reported in Waterville.

A shoplifter was stopped in Canning where the woman fled. Another was caught in Kingston.

A mailbox was stolen in Morden.

A generator that was probably stolen was found on a hiking trail near Kingston.

A backpack found in Wolfville was returned.

Police are investigating a truck that had an insecure load, which got loose and caused a collision on Highway 101 near Berwick.

A lamppost was damaged in Aylesford.

Two loose dogs attacked another dog in East Dalhousie.

A child welfare complaint came in.

Someone banged on a door in Berwick and left cookies on the doorstep. The recipient called the police to report suspect cookies.

Three or four males caused a disturbance on Commercial Street, Berwick.

Two individuals were caught for failing to comply with their curfews.

A 45-year-old intoxicated man was arrested in New Minas after he was injured in a fall and taken to hospital.

Jan. 4

At 7:11 a.m., a child welfare investigation began. A second child welfare case occurred later in the morning after a teen refused to go home due to unsafe conditions at the residence.

A vehicle was damaged in Kingston and another was vandalized in North Kentville.

A vehicle that was stopped prior to turning was rear-ended in Cambridge and extensively damaged.

There was a medical emergency in Wolfville.

At 4 p.m., a prescription pad was reported stolen from a doctor's office in town. Cst. Blair MacMurtery said all prescriptions are coded now, so the swiped pad cannot be used.

The dogs roaming freely in East Dalhousie killed a family cat. Live traps were set to catch them.

A suspicious vehicle was reported driving slowly in Somerset.

A prowler was reported in Wolfville.

There were 12 domestic incidents. A 50-year-old man was arrested for assault and unsafe storage of a firearm. Another case involved an intoxicated and unwanted boyfriend who fled when police were called. In another, a 63-year-old man was arrested for failing to comply with a court order.

There were three mental health calls, including an attempted suicide. Two family relations cases revolved around custody concerns.

There were 12 driving complaints. Collisions were reported in Aylesford, Wolfville, Keddy' Corner, Greenwich, Greenwood and in New Minas. Checkpoints were conducted in Greenwich and Wolfville. Some open liquor and five grams of marijuana were discovered.

There were five reports of threats and two landlord/tenant complaints. Five cases of harassment were reported.

There were six false alarms and 19 false 911 calls.

 

Checkpoint results

During December, 68 checkpoints were conducted in the county and 1,800 vehicles were checked. Two impaired drivers were stopped and two seven-day suspensions were handed out.
