Cocaine trafficking, possession

Wolfville resident Courtney McLean, 23, was in Kentville provincial court Sept. 30 following her Sept. 27 arrest for possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking and possession of less than 30 grams of marijuana.

McLean was arrested by the Valley Integrated Street Crime Enforcement Unit, which executed a controlled substances search warrant on a Blue Heron Court residence in Wolfville. During the search, police seized cocaine, marijuana, cash and drug trafficking paraphernalia.

McLean was held in custody until her court appearance, where she was released on a surety and ordered to return to court Oct. 28 to enter a plea.


Possession for purpose of trafficking

Charles Anthony Sheffield, of New Minas, was handed a four-month sentence and eight months of probation Sept. 30.

He pleaded guilty to a charge of possession of marijuana for the purpose of trafficking, laid June 18 in New Minas. The court also imposed a 10-year, four-month firearms prohibition.


Possession of marijuana

Natalie Karen Hatt, 26, of Kingston, was handed a conditional discharge and four months of probation after entering a guilty plea to a lesser charge of possession of marijuana, changed from the original Feb. 14 charge of possession of marijuana for the purpose of trafficking.

The court also ordered Hatt to make a $150 donation to the Red Door Charity as part of her sentence.
