Canning man faces impaired driving charges


A man and boy are in hospital after a crash on Highway 358 Oct. 31.

Just before 8 p.m., a van and Jeep collided head on in North’s Corner. According to RCMP, the northbound Jeep Patriot crossed the centre line, striking a southbound Pontiac van

The driver of the van, a 36-year-old man, was freed from the vehicle by Canning Fire Department and transported to Valley Regional Hospital in Kentville. He was airlifted to hospital in Halifax with serious injuries.  A boy in the van was taken to hospital in Kentville. An adult female and a child passenger were unhurt.

The driver of the Jeep, a 31-year-old Canning man, will be in court Dec. 17 to face impaired driving charges.
