A South Alton man will be sentenced Feb. 13 on drug production, trafficking and possession charges and for possessing a firearm without the necessary licence.
Wayne Brenton Medicraft, 46, pled guilty to charges of unlawfully producing cannabis marijuana, unlawfully possessing in excess of 30 grams of cannabis marijuana for the purpose of trafficking, unlawfully possessing cannabis marijuana and possessing a firearm without the necessary license Feb. 4. The matters were adjourned to Feb. 7 for sentencing but were again put over to Feb. 13.
The first two charges stem from an incident in South Alton Sept. 19, 2012 and the second two from an incident in South Alton Dec. 12. Medicraft is charged also with a second count of possessing a firearm without holding the necessary license, possessing a loaded prohibited weapon and storing a firearm in a careless manner in South Alton Dec. 12. These three charges were adjourned to Feb. 13 for disposition.
Also charged with producing and possessing cannabis marijuana in South Alton Sept. 19 are Ralph Albert Medicraft, 66, South Alton; Jason Keith Hiltz, 39, South Alton; Michael Vincent Boylan, 26, Berwick; Laura Lee Medicraft, 42, South Alton; and Codey Jerome Ernst, 20, South Alton. Ernst is charged also with failing to comply with probation and Boylan is charged with unlawfully possessing hydromorphone contin and dilaudid. Laura Lee Medicraft was charged also with possessing hydromorphone contin and dilaudid but this has been withdrawn.
All have elected provincial court judge and will be back in court Feb. 18 for disposition on the charges.

theses people have a history of this as i know for sure .i use to live in that area years ago and saw and heard their names more than once selling growing and running from the law .i wish that the law could do more on people like this .how many friends i have lost due to theses guys and the habits they have .one true friend i lost a few years ago do to the fact of pills and drugs in the area of kentville .this family is well known for growing and selling drugs around the valley .they have a outstanding history with the police .its time to shut down people like this and their way of life .no excuses from the crown or the police to many lives are being lost .time to put them in jail and throw away the key .may help save the children of the future
