Travelling art

CBC Radio's Information Morning brought its Sharing the View travelling art exhibit for 2012 to historic St. Mary's Anglican Church in Auburn Oct. 25-26 for an open house Thursday evening, at which the 12 paintings were on display, and then a live broadcast of the program Friday morning. The 12 paintings are being made into a calendar that will be sold starting Nov. 9, the evening of a gala celebration in Halifax at which the paintings will all be auctioned off and the calendar unveiled. Proceeds of the auction and calendar sales will be donated to Feed Nova Scotia for the support of food banks throughout the province, including here in Kings County. St. Mary's was chosen as the home venue of Twila Robar-DeCoste, one of the four marquee artists involved with this year's project. Other shows were held in Lunenburg, Clam Harbour and Sydney leading up to the Nov. 9 gala. In its first two years, Sharing the View raised some $162,000 for Feed Nova Scotia.
