Wolfville’s annual Resolution Run will take place on Dec. 31.
Susan Markham-Starr, one of the organizers, recalled the first year, when about 30 people braved a blizzard to launch the New Year’s Eve event. Over 150 participants took place last year.
“We have grown each year to help you jump start your healthiest year ever and to benefit the Wolfville Area Inter Church Council Food Bank,” she said.
The entry fee for the run or walk is a cash donation or non-perishable food contribution.
The run will start from the Wolfville Farmers’ Market, with registration at 1:30 p.m., followed by a 3.5-kilometre or five-km run or walk along the sidewalks of downtown Wolfville.
Markham-Starr says hot cider, provided by Stirling’s Farm Market, will be available afterward at the market.
Sponsors, including the town of Wolfville, Acadia University and the province’s department of health and wellness, are providing prizes.
