Valley schools were well represented among NSSAF football all-stars and major award winners.

All-stars and award winners were named for each of the two NSSAFFL divisions, the Nova Division and the Scotia Division. Horton and NKEC both played in the Nova Division, while Central Kings competed in the Scotia Division.

In Nova, Adam Melanson of Horton was a co-winner as Lineman of the Year.

Horton’s Robert Lannan won the award for Outstanding Kicker/ Punter, and NKEC’s Sam Bigelow was co-winner as Rookie of the Year.

Nova Division all-stars included Doug Spriggs of Horton, a first-team offensive lineman; Melanson, a first-team defensive lineman; Horton’s Noel Morgan, a first-team defensive back; NKEC’s Jeff Longaphy, a first-team D lineman; and Will Mosher, a first-team O-lineman.

Making the second team were Lannan, at receiver; Horton’s Zac Austin, on the O-line; D-lineman Jordan Grant and linebacker Hayden Sutherland; NKEC linebacker Leigh Benjamin and defensive back David Hayes.

In the Scotia Division, Jacob Gee of Central Kings was co-winner as Lineman of the Year.

Central Kings all-star selections included, on the first team, running back Iain MacMillan, fullback Robert Priestnall, D-linemen Jacob Greg and Kyle Aitken and defensive back Todd Dow.

Second team all-stars from C.K. included receiver Brandon Patterson, O-linemen Bradley Burgess and Andrew Jennings-Lindsay and linebacker Nick Lamb.
