A four-goal third period buried the Acadia Axemen Friday night in Moncton, losing 6-3 to the Blue Eagles.

The game was tied 2-2 after 40 minutes of play in Moncton before the host team broke open the game.

Liam Heels, K.C. Brown and Jonathan Laberge scored for the Axemen with assists to Christopher Owen, Paul Kurceba, Jonathan Laberge and Travis Gibbons.

Evan Mosher, who made 31 saves, was tagged with the loss while PA Marion made 26 saves for the victory in front of 910 people.

Acadia (11-6-1) is tied for third place with Saint Mary's but have played one more game than the Huskies.

Moncton improved to 12-5 and is in second place, three points behind UNB (13-3-1).

Acadia plays last-place St. Thomas (3-12-2) tonight at 7 p.m.
