The Acadia Axemen hockey team is planning to hold its first Novice showcase event for the top players born in 2005 across the province.

The event builds on last year’s Atom showcase, which was a great success, and the team is looking forward to bringing this elite-level camp to the Novice level.

In order to qualify, players must have played Novice Advanced or Novice Intermediate last season.

Players will receive a minimum of 12 hours of on-ice time throughout the week, including two full games. Topics covered at the camp include power skating, skills sessions, position-specific sessions and team practices.

The camp will run from Aug. 26 to Aug. 29 at the Acadia Arena in Wolfville. The cost to participate is $300. For more information or to register, contact Travis Young at 585-1611 or e-mail youngtravis@hotmail.com
