The Valley Maple Leafs are now down two games to one in their best-of-seven Fred Fox division semifinal series.

The local Junior B team lost 3-1 to the Sackville Blazers on Feb. 25 at Sackville.

After a scoreless first period, the Blazers scored on a second period power play, with Brett Arthur with the goal and his brother, Matt Arthur, with the assist.

Maple Leaf’s Jake Galbraith tied it up with another power play goal in the third, with assists from Luke Short and Brandon Parker. But the Blazers kept at it, regaining the lead with the third power play goal of the night from Jordan Keizer, from Brett Arthur.

Brett Arthur wrapped up the night with an open net goal with 16 seconds left in the game.

The loss leaves the Valley Maple Leafs in a must-win position in order to continue the season. The next game in the series is scheduled for Feb. 28 at Berwick’s Kings Mutual Century Centre. Puck drops at 8:20 p.m.
