 The Acadia men’s basketball team kicks off the post-Christmas portion of the 2012-2013 season at the Rod Shoveller tournament Dec. 29 to 31 at Dalhousie.

The Axemen will play their first game Dec. 29  at 8 p.m. against the Laval Rouge et Or. Other first round match-ups will see Cape Breton against Saint Mary’s at 1 p.m., St.F.X. versus Laurentian at 3 and Dalhousie versus Algoma at 6.

The remainder of the tournament is dependent on the day one results. If the Axemen win Saturday, they play at 8 p.m. Dec. 30. A loss Saturday, and Acadia plays at 3 p.m. Dec. 30.  The consolation final, bronze medal game and championship game are all set for Dec. 31, at 11 a.m., 1 and 3 p.m. respectively.  For results and webcast information, click here.

On the women's side, the Acadia Axewomen are at the inaugural Thunder Selects CIS Holiday Classic Dec. 28 to 30, also in Halifax. The six-team field  includes Dalhousie, Lakehead, Saint Mary’s, Manitoba and St. F.X.

Acadia is scheduled to play St. F.X. at 4 p.m. Dec. 28, Saint Mary’s at 6 p.m. Dec. 29 and Dalhousie at 4 p.m. Dec. 30.  All games are at the Homburg Centre at SMU.
