Wolfville Skating Club hands out awards

WOLFVILLE – Parents and grandparents were on hand to see the Wolfville Skating Club’s annual ice show on March 5.


Over the Rainbow marked the end of the club’s 46th year offering Skate Canada programs.

The award for program assistant went to Sara Baxter due to her positive attitude, love of skating, and commitment, said coach Fallis Thompson.

This year’s CanSkate Champion awards were presented to two young skaters Alexandra Lopez and Bethany MacDougall.

The CanSkater award for enthusiasm and dedication. was given to Lily Zimmermann-Shute. This was her first season with the Wolfville Skating Club and she has become a great role model to the younger and older skaters alike because of her positive attitude and love of the sport.

The Skate Canada Section Volunteer award went to Jamie Purvis, a four-year volunteer since her first year at Acadia. She will be graduating in May.
