NSSL outdoor Tier 1 soccer season underway

The NSSL 2010 Tier 1 outdoor soccer season is underway, with mixed results so far for Valley United teams.

As of May 28, the U-14 A boys had played the most games – four – and had a 0-3-1 record, with their next action set for June 5 and 6.

The U-14 A boys played a pair of games in Cape Breton May 22-23, losing the first game 2-1 and playing to a 1-1 draw in the second. Adam McCluskey and Gabe Morgan scored the Valley goals.

May 8, Valley lost 5-1 to Suburban, with Logan Blanchard scoring the lone Valley goal. May 2, Valley was blanked 5-0 by Halifax Dunbrack.

The U-14 D boys’ team lost its season opener May 24 to Suburban by a 5-1 score, with William Warren scoring the Valley marker. The U-14 D girls’ team dropped a 1-0 decision to Suburban in its season opener May 9.

The U-16 girls played to a 1-1 draw with Halifax County in their season opener May 8, with Tessa Fudge scoring her team’s only goal.

The U-16 boys opened their season with a pair of ties in Cape Breton, 1-1 May 22 and 0-0 May 23. Corey Cadeau scored Valley’s only goal.

The Valley United senior teams also opened their 2010 seasons on the May 22 weekend. The senior women played to a 1-1 draw with Suburban May 22, with Carly Goodine scoring the Valley goal. The Valley Kings Arms senior men opened with a 1-0 loss to Suburban May 23.
