Stories from Kings' poor farm and county hospital

Waterville historian Randy Rockwell will talk August 12 on these two once well-known buildings: the Kings County Poor Farm, on the left, operated from the 1920s, while the Kings County Hospital - an early form of today’s Kings Regional Rehabilitation Centre, followed with services in the 1930s; both on the County Home Road in Waterville. Rockwell intends to spend time on early rules for the poor, and how their situations changed once the poor farm opened. Everyone is welcome for the 7 p.m. presentation at Berwick’s Apple Capital Museum, Commercial Street.
