I'm tickled pink to be inducted into their Nova Scotia Business Hall of Fame,” Luckett said in a news release. “I can get behind anything that inspires youth and entrepreneurship. We need every bit of boost we can get.”
Luckett’s entrepreneurial career began at age 14 in the busy outdoor food markets of England. In the early 1980’s, he opened a single retail outlet in New Brunswick that grew into one of Atlantic Canada’s best-known fresh produce chains, Pete’s Frootique, with five locations across New Brunswick and Nova Scotia.
The stores were later rebranded Pete’s Fine Foods. Luckett recently announced the sale of his retail and wholesale grocery business to Sobeys.
Luckett launched Luckett Vineyards in the Gaspereau Valley in 2011. The vineyard offers stunning views of the Minas Basin and Cape Blomidon and produces wines showcasing local grape varieties.
The Business Hall of Fame was started in 1993 to recognize the contributions made by successful leaders and entrepreneurs.
