Holly Silver, right, answers questions at the booth she set up for the annual Holistic and Well-Being Expo hosted at the Greenwich Fire Hall May 6.
GREENWICH - Holly Silver sees more and more people seeking holistic approaches to health these days.
Silver recently filled the Greenwich Fire Hall with vendors participating in the Holistic and Well-Being Expo she hosted May 6.
“I started it seven or so years ago because I wanted to bring holistic practitioners together, and people who made their own products,” she said, noting that 34 vendors signed on this year.
“I have more applications than I have room for.”
Silver, owner of The Magical Closet, sees the expo as a prime venue for massage therapists, osteopaths, naturopaths, herbalists, reflexologists, etc.
“A lot of people now are more open minded, and more interested in learning about natural… it doesn’t have a lot of side effects,” said Silver.
“I find people are a lot more stressed these days, so they’re looking for more ways to help relieve stress.”
The holistic methods can be paired with more traditional approaches to medicine, and the expo gives people a chance to see what’s out there, Silver added.
“This is just a place to bring everything together, where someone can come and try it.”
