New Canaan Country Music Festival starting up

CANAAN - The Canaan Country Music Fest, a new country music event in the Valley, has been slated for July 2.

 
 

George Canyon, Nova Scotia's Country super star and N.S. Country Music Hall of Fame inductee, will act as host for the one-day event, says organizer Jessica Brewster.

Headlining acts will include: award winning Brett Kissel, whose latest single ‘Pick Me Up’ is on top of the Canadian Country Billboard, last year’s female artist of the year Jess Moskaluke and Jason Benoit. Benoit is a Canadian Country Music Association Rising Star nominee and has had a Top 10 Single..

CCMA Discovery Program Winner and actor on CBC's Heartland Wes Mack will also be appearing.

Brewster says, "We will also be have an exclusively Nova Scotian showcase featuring 10 of Nova Scotia's top up and coming country artists."

She operates Down East Country and Fusion Entertainment and Artist Development out of Centreville.

The festival of Canadian country talent will take place outdoors on a farm property on Canaan Mountain Road near New Minas. Brewster expects the music will run from 2 p.m. to 11 p.m.

“We sold out of pre sale tickets, which was very exciting,” according to Brewster.
