LAKE PAUL – A Lake Paul home has been reduced to charred rubble.

Multiple fire departments were called to the scene of the structure fire in the 4,000 block of Aylesford Road shortly after 2:30 p.m. Nov. 21.

Aylesford Fire Chief Shawn Carey said heavy black smoke could be seen throughout the home upon arrival. Flames quickly spread through the multi-level house, and firefighters focused on battling the blaze from the exterior of the home.

The Kingston District Fire Department’s aerial truck was called in to assist with the fire suppression efforts from above, targeting flames picking away at the roof of the home.

“It’s going to be a complete loss,” said Carey in a brief interview at the scene.

“It’s an old house with a lot of stonework in it.”

The occupants of the house were not home when the fire broke out, Carey said.

The investigation into the cause and origin of the fire is ongoing.
