Suspended sentence for drug possession
Adam James Foster, 30, of Mount Uniacke, has been handed a suspended sentence with probation for unlawfully possessing hydromorphone.
Foster pleaded guilty to the charge on Oct. 3. Judge Alan Tufts handed him a suspended sentence with nine months of probation.
Foster committed the offence in Newport Corner on Aug. 18.
Fined for dangerous driving
Matthew Bruce Aaron MacNeil, 34, of Windsor, has been fined for dangerous driving and driving without insurance.
MacNeil pleaded guilty to the charges on Oct. 3. Judge Alan Tufts fined MacNeil $520 on the dangerous driving charge and $1,272.50 for driving without insurance.
MacNeil committed the offence in Garlands Crossing on May 29.
Conditional discharge for assault
Margaret Lynn Gunn, 38, of Centreville, has been handed a conditional discharge with probation for committing an assault.
Gunn pleaded guilty to the charge on Aug. 1 and the matter was adjourned to allow time for a pre-sentence report to be prepared and for sentencing. On Oct. 3, Judge Paul Scovil handed Gunn a conditional discharge with six months of probation. Gunn was fined $100 in victim surcharges.
Gunn committed the offence in Kentville on May 27.
Conditional discharge for resisting police
Clayton Derek Jacobs, 31, of Cambridge, Kings County, has been handed a conditional discharge with probation for resisting a police officer engaged in the execution of her duty.
Jacobs changed his plea to guilty in June and the matter was adjourned to Oct. 3 to allow time for a pre-sentence report to be prepared and for sentencing. Jacobs was handed a conditional discharge with 12 months of probation and was fined $100 in victim surcharges.
Jacobs committed the offence in Cambridge on Sept. 5, 2016. Charges of having care or control of a motor vehicle while his blood alcohol level exceeded the legal limit; having care or control of a motor vehicle while his ability to operate was impaired by alcohol or a drug and assaulting a police officer engaged in the execution of her duty were dismissed on Oct. 3.
Fine, probation for assault
Jason Maurice Spicer, 37, of Kingston, has been fined and sentenced to probation for committing an assault.
Spicer changed his plea to guilty on Oct. 3. He was fined a total of $325 and was sentenced to nine months of probation.
Spicer committed the offence in Kingston on Nov. 6, 2016. Charges of committing mischief by damaging a motor vehicle to a value not exceeding $5,000 and uttering a threat to cause bodily harm were dismissed on Oct. 3.
